About
Silver Star is a new feature film directed by Ruben Amar (Swim Little Fish Swim, Checkpoint). The film will shoot in the Philadelphia/Camden, NJ area starting in March 2022. The award-winning director is interested in finding authentic, real people for several speaking roles.
With this in mind, we are considering anyone interested, whether or not you have experience acting, for paid speaking roles. If you live in the area and are interested in being considered, fill out our online casting call form.

A note about COVID safety: All crew and cast will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof unless they have valid medical exemption. You will also be tested prior to coming on set. Please be aware of this as you audition - we cannot cast you unless you can follow these requirements.

What are you looking for?
The film features so many roles. So anyone interested in auditioning should submit regardless of age or gender. We are looking for people who live in the region and who are genuinely interested in being part of the film.
What if I’ve never acted before?
That is fine! We are looking for real, authentic people.
When should I submit my audition by?
As soon as possible!
When will I know if I am cast?
We are currently casting on a rolling basis, so we cannot give you an exact date. If we are interested in you, you will hear from production.
What if I have a job?
Most of the roles we are casting will require just one day of shooting, so if you are able to take a day off of work for this (paid) day of shooting, this shouldn’t be a problem. Days are long, 12 hours usually, and you cannot come late or leave early.
Will I get paid?
Absolutely.
What if I don’t live in the area?
You need to be able to self-report to Camden, NJ/Philadelphia. Please note shoot days are LONG (10+ hours) so we need you to be able to safely get to set early and get home after a long day. Keep this in mind when you apply.
What is the movie about?
Buddy is a 20-year-old Civil War reenactor, fresh out of jail and trying desperately to save his parents from eviction. During a botched bank robbery, he crosses paths with the charmingly impulsive Franny, a pregnant 18-year-old with nothing to lose. Together they embark on a road trip, plotting, scheming, and hoping for a better future.

Ruben Amar is a French screenwriter, director and producer. He is best known for the independent feature film Swim Little Fish Swim, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and his two last short films Checkpoint and A Girl Like You With a Boy Like Me.
